Mr. C.S. Dahiya is M. Sc. in Physics with specialization in Electronics and M. Tech in Applied Optics from Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. During his M.Tech. studies he completed his project on holography and laser under the guidance of worthy Profesor Kehar Singh who was awarded with Galileo award in later year. While doing M. Tech. Mr. Dahiya feels proud to be the student of Professor M.S. Soda, Prof. Harshvardhan and Prof. R.S. Sirohi who in later years were elevated to the position of Vice Chancellors and Directors of prestigious institutions of the country. Fortunately all the above names are still on the panel of ‘OPTIREGION’.

 

After completed his studies in 1970, Mr. Dahiya joined Optical Instrument Company (Delhi) owned by Prof. P.K. Kitchlu (Ex.-Director of National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi) as a scientist and worked under his guidance for a period of more than six years. Prof. Kitchlu was a noted scientist in the field of spectroscopy. Mr. Dahiya feels privileged to work under him.

 

Mr. C.S. Dahiya established ‘OPTIREGION’ in year 1977 with a view to make sophisticated optical components in optical glass, natural quartz, calcite & fused silica and instruments. Soon it became a known company hence began to supply its products to DRDO laboratories. National laboratories like National Physical Laboratory, colleges and universities, Engineering colleges such as National Institute of Technology(s) and I.I.T.(s) in India. Most of our products such as Autocollimator, Angle dekkor and Interferometers, etc. have been calibrated by National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi and found that precision & accuracy of the instruments & components such as optical flats, prisms & plane-parallels stand at par with International standards.

 

In 1980, Optiregion make He-Ne laser and developed a number of experiments using laser as a source of light. Dr. D. Sen (ex-scientist and head of optics & metrology division in N.P.L. Delhi) joined Optiregion in 1990 after his retirement. He supervised R & D activities in Optiregion for a period of five years. Dr. Sen was most eminent & respected scientist who was known for his Research work in the field of Interferometry and Holography, In his supervision, Optiregion developed a number of Interferometers and precision hardware for lasers & holographic systems and optical instruments.

 

Few years back from now Dr. H.S. Dahiya who was also working with Dr, S. Sen in N.P.L. joined Optiregion and looking after R&D and quality control of precision optical systems.

 

Recently Optiregion has started working in the field of Nano-technology and developed some instruments such as Time resolved laser induced photoluminescence set up for nano structures at room temperature and from low temperature to room temperature. Also we developed a Table Model to measure the Velocity of light and in addition to it we are planning to develop Micro-Pulse Rader system as soon as we get the know-how transferred from N.P.L. New Delhi.

 

Under DST program we are going to collaborate with Department of Physics, Delhi University to develop surface Plasmon Resonance System which may come to market very soon. 

 

In short, Optiregion is well equipped with precision measuring instruments and qualified and experienced staff, which makes it capable to undertake any Research project, based on optical system.
